I am Chiquita Granville. I am so ecstatic about the 2020-2021 school year. Hopefully, students and parents are excited about the beginning of another successful year too. This year is my first-year teaching at Thomson Middle School, but I have taught 6th-grade Mathematics for three years. During my first two years of teaching, I created positive learning spaces for my students. I aim for high expectations and, students prove to me year after year that 6th grade is a game changer—they become very independent and rise to the challenge.
Empowering and educating others has always been my passion. Throughout the tenure of my professional and academic career, I have accumulated 8+ years of assisting students to excel in learning objectives. As an undergraduate, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Health Informatics from Georgia State University.
Upon receiving my Master of Arts in Middle Grades Mathematics from Georgia College and State University, I began teaching at Macon County Middle School. Currently, I am an Ed. D in Curriculum Studies candidate at Georgia Southern University.
I am thrilled to be teaching in Houston County School District this year. And I can assure with my compassion, commitment to my students, and support from the parents we will surpass the expectation of Houston County's community for this school year. If there's a question you are eager to ask, here's your invitation. See you on the first day of school.
Unit Student Guide
It is my priority to keep you informed and have an open line of communication, academically. Whenever students began a new unit, there will be a student guide posted on Google Classroom. Students without internet access will have access to a hard copy. Please review the guide with your child as frequently as possible. The guide will include Performance Standards, Skills Mastered, I can statement, and Vocabulary. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
